Hope in the hopelessness (The Hope And The Glory)

We live in a broken world, full of broken people who have lost hope People have no ambition, no purpose to life and they feel they have no future. In Bootle there is a lot of unemployment. A lot of kids are brought up by parents who have never worked and sometimes their grandparents have never worked. These kids have no aspirations and no ambitions. Around us are single parents, people with depression, people who think they can’t do anything with their lives. The area is known as one of the poorest places in the country. People are broken Now this may paint a negative picture of Bootle, but the reality is this is the case in many areas of our nation. Even wealthy areas have many people with no ambition or hope. Over the last few years we have seen God do amazing things! We have seen many lives radically changed. Amongst all this hopelessness and brokenness, I believe there is hope! I believe there is hope in Jesus and because of what He has done there is hope in us True hope is only found in Jesus! He gives us purpose, He gives us a future, He gives us life in abundance. He gives us unmerited favour, He gives us a reason to live. He gives us unconditional and boundless love When we truly realise what Jesus has done for us, we become the light in the darkness, we can be the difference, we can bring joy, we can bring peace. We can comfort the widow, the orphan, the torn we can feed the hungry, be strength to the weak, see the captive free. We can bring hope to the abused, to the single parent, to the drug addict, to the alcoholic. Now, I’ve been sitting on this blog for 4 months since being asked to write about it. I’ve struggled with sending it off and I’m not really sure why, but tonight I watched the I-heart revolution film at the odeon in Liverpool and once again it confirmed to me this message that we have and we are the answer. We can be the difference We can bring the change We are all is this together and little by little, step by step as we live out this awesome message of hope many hopeless lives will find hope!
